This is another great Malbec from France. Not 100% Malbec, but rather a blend of 85% Malbec and 15% Merlot.
The winemaker, Jean-Luc Baldes, has won the best estate and Winemaker in Southwest France award. He has been producing this Malbec, the Triguedina La Chapelle du Clos, for a number of years.
The wine is dark red in color and has dark blackberry fruit flavors that is both smooth and mineral in texture. Great level of acidity and smooth tannins. This Malbec will go well with meat dishes and cheeses, but is also great on its own. It received 88 points from The Wine Enthusiast.

A beautifully crafted red Rhone blend consisting of 75% Syrah and 25% Grenache.
This wine is purple red in color and has a black cherry fragrance. Lush berry fruit flavor with good minerality, medium tannins and hints of oak and licorice. A smooth wine with a dry finish.
This wine is produced from old vines and is labeled “Reserve”.

Philippe Raguenot Cotes de Bordeaux 2010 is a red blend containing Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%).
This is a traditional Bordeaux-style red blend that is medium-bodied with rather thick blackberry fruit and hints of spice and currant. The wine has medium tannins and finishes dry. I had expected a little more from this Bordeaux wine, but it’s still a good wine. Will work best with food (meat dishes).
