Red wine from the Calatayud region in Spain. Very nice to drink grenache red wine, produced from 100+ year old vineyards grown on pure slate soils at high altitude from the village of Atea. For around $10, this wine is a truly great deal and as it says on the bottle, a similar quality wine would go for twice as much.
The bottle has a nice blue label and the glass is pretty thick, which will protect the wine from “less than ideal storage conditions” as you may encounter fairly often (such as here in Pennsylvania state liquor stores). The wine is full-bodied with rich fragrant aromas and medium tannins. A delicious wine that is worth a try, if you can find it.
