This red blend from Columbia River Valley in Washington state is labeled “Hot to Trot” and consists of the following grape varieties: Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, some Grenache and other varieties (according to the winemaker).
14 Hands red blend has a dark plum color and a nice aroma of ripe berry fruit. The taste is velvety smooth with luscious dark berry flavors with hints of cloves and medium tannins, which makes this a perfect all-around wine. For $12 -$13, this is a great value wine.
The name of the winery relates to the small horses that once roamed the Columbia River Valley. These horses measured a mere “14 Hands” tall. Wines can be ordered directly from the winery online.
