This 2010 Zinfandel from the Duckhorn Wine Company (“Decoy“) in Sonoma County is a pleasant every-day wine.
This 2010 Zinfandel is dark ruby red/purple in color, and has plenty of strawberry and raspberry fruit flavors with hints of oak, vanilla and spice coming through. Not an overly complex wine, but it has a smooth and round finish. Still a bit on the expensive side.
Created and bottled by Decoy, St. Helena, CA.
Ghost Pines is the vinyard named by the Martini Family as a tribute to the native grey pines which at dusk appear to have a ghostlike resemblance.
This is a very nice Zinfandel Blend, with fruit from Sonoma County (85%) and San Joaquin County (15%), combining the best of what each county has to offer. Rich ripe berry fruit flavors, accentuated with dark spices and nice subtle tannins.
Beautiful layered flavor profile with long finish and just the right amount of acidity. Drink within the next few years.
Produced and bottled by the Louis M. Martini Winery, Healdsburg, CA.
